OTHER WORKS

From time to time, Ivan likes to paint something other than churches and historical landmarks.  In some of these paintings, he likes to use bold and dramatic colors such as his paintings entitled “Path in the Woods” and “Red Hibiscus”.  Some of these other paintings reflect a time in his life where very special memories were created, such as “Chesdin Sunset” which is the exact spot beneath the Lake Chesdin Dam that overflows into the Appomattox River in Matoaca where years ago he and his children used poles and bobbers to go fishing. Some are very unique to his normal style of painting such as “Remembering Veterans” which commemorates the annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Old Chesterfield County Court House.  Some paintings reflect a personal introspect such as “Pastor Growing Old” in which he sees himself reading in front of a warm fire.
